In Prayer Group we have been working collaboratively to create wonderful, colourful and inspiring prayer boats. Our boats are filled with prayers, wishes and positive words. It took us rather a long time to follow the origami instructions, but thanks to a helping hand from Rev. Aaron, we got there in the end!
We enjoyed a marvellous assembly this morning, planned and led by members of the prayer group. There was a wonderful calm environment, opportunities for reflection and a strong message of servantship and love.
Members of the prayer group, and the whole school community, worked together to prepare a wonderful, moving Easter Service. Year 6 re-enacted the events of Holy week, the choir led us in praise-filled singing and children from prayer group shared their reflections and prayers. Thank you to all the families who joined us for the […]
Thank you to prayer group members Lily and Layla who designed and presented a fantastic Creation assembly for the whole school! The girls have been working hard in prayer group sessions, and also in their own free time, to prepare the presentation. Their assembly included an informative video, some thought-provoking questions, a prayer and a […]
In prayer group at the moment, we are studying Bible scripture and planning collective worship sessions around Old and New Testament verses. Each group has taken a different story: Adam and Eve, Noah’s Arc, The Feeding of the Five Thousand, The Last Supper, The Parable of the Talents … and many more! We have created […]
In prayer group we have been exploring the meaning of the Galatians 5:22-23 Bible verse: 'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.’ We have each responded to the verse in our own way and we will be displaying our work in the school […]
For the past few weeks in prayer group, we have been reflecting upon the things which make us all special and unique. It has been lovely to think about our different likes, dislikes, qualities and responsibilities, and to share these qualities with others. We’ve realised: It’s great being us!
This week, in prayer group, we have been exploring ‘lego prayers’. We weren’t quite sure what to expect as we’ve never done anything like this before, but it turned out to be an incredibly fun and reflective session. Ideas for lego prayers can be found below in case you want to have a go at home… […]
The children in prayer group have been working hard to prepare for our Easter Service this week. The children wrote the prayers themselves and some Year 5 prayer group members read the prayers in church. It was a lovely service – very reflective with beautiful singing from all children. We would like to wish all […]
On Sunday 19th February, members of our prayer group led the intercessional prayers at morning prayer in St Chad’s church. Ciera, Faye and Caitlyn also prepared a short reflection which they read in the service, reflecting upon the work of the prayer group and the ways in which they hope it will develop in the future. The […]
It was fantastic to see so many new faces at prayer group this week – we were overwhelmed by the energy and enthusiasm of the children. Reverend Sharon joined us too and she has some great ideas for activities we can do in the future so watch this space!
In prayer group this week, we explored different ways of praying. We found that some of us are sometimes a bit unsure what kind of things to pray for/about. We made our own ‘prayer hands’, with each finger representing something or someone we could include in our prayers each day. When these are finished, we […]
We enjoyed a fantastic, fun and thoughtful first prayer group meeting today. Together we explored our ideas about prayers: what they are, why we pray, how we pray and lots more! We also shared many ideas for activities we would like to do in future prayer groups. Watch this space to find out what we […]
