Oldham SEND inspection
NEWSFLASH – LOCAL AREA SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES (SEND) INSPECTION
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY DIRECTLY WITH INSPECTORS DURING AN ONLINE WEBINAR
DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!! Click for details.
The parent/carer webinar will be on Tuesday 3/10/2017 at 1.45pm.
Register here: http://bit.ly/OldhamLASEND
The webinar will allow parents and carers in the Oldham area the opportunity to contribute. The session will be led by Jonathan Jones, Her Majesty’s Inspector, who will ask parents and carers about their views and experiences on how effectively the Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council local area is fulfilling the above responsibilities.
While they understand that many parents and carers may have views on their experience that were before the implementation of the reforms in September 2014, it is important that this date is used as the start for gathering evidence about the impact of the reforms as part of their new inspections. They would also like parents and carers to understand that they will not be able to follow up or comment upon individual cases.
While we at POINT appreciate that the timing of this webinar is not ideal the Inspection team has advised us that due to technical support this and all other future Local Area webinars are having to be held during the day.
We have attached a ‘Webinar Guidance’ which will explain what you need to know after registration. If you have any questions in relation to the webinar or any aspect of the inspection please don’t hesitate to contact POINT on 0161 667 2054.
The areas the teams will focus on are:
- How well the local area identifies and assesses the needs of children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
How well it meets the needs of these children and young people so that their outcomes and chances of participating fully in society improve.
We’ve included the IPSEA link again below for details about these inspections and why it is so important that YOUR voice is heard.
