Year 3 Programming
Year 3 have been writing programmes to draw a square.
We started by moving a rabbit around a square and talking about the instructions we would give him. We used directional language such as forward, backward, left turn and right turn.
We then wrote the instructions down in words.
We decided that it would be easier to use arrows rather than words.
Some people noticed a pattern and said that parts of the code repeated. We look at what these were.
We transferred our code into 2Go in 2simple. We looked at putting the whole programme in and then using the repeat loop.
We then changed some values to make our squares bigger and smaller. We also changed the angle of turn to make it turn left.
Our mind map reflects our learning in the lesson.
