The children have quickly settled back into the school routine and have approached the new year with great enthusiasm. It has been a cold and frosty start to Forest School. We took advantage of the beautiful frosty ground and created pictures in the frost, including frosty angels!
We have been getting ready for this year’s RSPB Big School’s Birdwatch. We have been sharing our knowledge and understanding of birds during sustained and critical thinking time. We have also set up our bird hide in the school grounds. Mrs. George led an assembly on the work and history of the RSPB and the whole school are keen to join in too and celebrate the 40th anniversary of this special event.
In P.E. we have been engaged in exploring a variety of apparatus and equipment. We have been challenged and on some apparatus we have had to persevere to overcome initial difficulties.
We have had our very first Spanish lesson with Mrs. Wharton and are engaged in learning the names of colours. We have a special ‘Los Colores’ table to collect and display objects, which are the same colour, as the focus colour for the week. This week the colour is rojo.
