Scarlet Fever

We have received notification from Public Health informing us of a national rise in Scarlet Fever particularly affecting children, and Greater Manchester is also seeing an increase in the number of cases being notified.

‘Any child with a rash and fever should be excluded from school and advised to see their GP. Children who have been diagnosed with Scarlet Fever by their doctor can return to school when they have been on antibiotics for 24 hours.’

Highly Commended at Choir of The Year 2014 Audition in Leeds Town Hall
Sunday, 06 April 2014 18:46

Congratulations to the school choir who performed wonderfully at Leeds Town Hall at the auditions for Choir Of The Year.  The standard was incredibly high.  We were performing alongside previous Choir of the Year winners, Eisteddfod winners and groups who spend their weekends at competitions. We got a special mention by the judges and received a Highly Commended award for our performance.  This is truly a wonderful recognition of the hard work, talent and precision the children gave their singing.  Mrs Henderson is so proud of EVERYONE.  We will wait to hear which choirs will be taken through to the next round in October.

Sport Relief
Thanks to everyone who supported Sport Relief by paying £1 to wear their trainers. In total we raised £239. Thank you.

Social Networking Sites

Instagram and Facebook are two of many social networking sites which recommend that registered users are aged 13 or over.  It has come to our attention that several children are using these sites, and although we can't restrict it, we strongly advise against its use by children at St. Chad's.

We have been made aware that several children are using these sites inappropriately, sending messages and posting photographs.   This is causing upset and having a negative impact in school that is affecting their learning.  As part of our e-Safety education we are asking that you have a discussion with your child about their online activities.

We have included below links to instagram and facebook which will provide more information.

Please also see the links section of our website for further eSafety advice.
